A centerpiece of the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival will be the New York premiere of the gay horror film Hellbent.

Written and directed by Paul Etheredge-Ouzts, Hellbent takes place on Halloween in West Hollywood. A group of gay party boys are stalked by a mysterious, Freddie/Jason type killer. With the West Hollywood carnival as a backdrop, the group is picked off by the stalker until the final confrontation.

What makes this film different from others in the horror/slasher genre is the well-fleshed out characters for the film, giving the performers much to work with in the story. The cast is terrific, in addition to being great to look at.  The expected gore is also well done - just enough to keep you clutching at the arm rests! You can really tell that the writer/director is an avid fan of the genre. Hellbent gives the queer audience something to relate to, after years of watching "Jamie Lee Curtis" running from the likes of Jason and Freddy.  Visit HERE for more Hellbent.

Hellbent will be shown with Toni Harman's Daddy's Boy. This British short will make you pause at taking up with a butcher, no matter how cute.
